About Us

OGI has been in business since May 1992 performing the design, construction supervision and project management of submarine and onshore pipelines as well as jetties and other coastal works. We are based in Singapore. Most of our projects have been in South East Asia, but other projects have been carried out from Saudi Arabia in the west to Japan in the east, and many other countries in between.

Our consistently high standard of engineering and innovative solutions have meant that most clients have awarded us many repeat contracts. They know they will receive cost effective designs that satisfy the overall project objectives, and are safe to install and operate. All our projects are designed in accordance with internationally accepted codes and standards. Many of our designs have been endorsed by certifying authorities such as ABS, DNV, Lloyds and Bureau Veritas when required by the client.

Personnel and Software

One of the main strengths of OGI is the experience and proven capability of our skilled engineers. Our staff include project managers, engineering specialists and construction engineers. Our experienced team ensures that projects proceed successfully from concept, through design to construction and commissioning.

Our considerable combined experience and knowledge ensures that all projects will be designed to state of the art standards, using the latest design tools, computers and software, and will satisfy the latest codes and standards. OGI’s engineers have the right combination of design and construction experience, gained through many years and many successful projects around the world. The experience of our engineers goes back many years prior to the formation of OGI Pte Ltd. We will form an experienced team for every project with the personnel selected to match the scope of work.

We use various commercial software programs for our design work, such as:

  • AutoPIPE
  • AGA/PRCI On-Bottom Stability
  • Staad.Pro
  • OLGA & PVTsim

We supplement these programs with many in-house software solutions. Most are based on Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications as well as MathCAD. We have developed many spreadsheets which can solve design problems related to all aspects of pipeline and related structures design. These spreadsheets are being constantly developed and updated to ensure the designs can be performed in accordance with the latest issues of the design codes.

We can perform designs in accordance with DNV 1981, DNV-OS-F101, DNVGL-ST-F101, ASME B31.8, ASME B31.4, API RP 1111, AS 2885 or any other internationally recognised codes specified by our clients.

OGI’s office in Singapore is located at a convenient central location in the city centre. OGI occupies 2,700 square feet of office space located in the Lian Huat Building in Tras Street. The furnishings and the various office facilities are of a high standard providing a conducive working environment.

Quality Management

An essential requirement of OGI’s work is that all deliverables are of high quality, accurate, and cost effective. They must meet the requirements of the client, certifying authority and government departments. To achieve this, each project is undertaken in accordance with our internal Quality Assurance programme.

OGI is committed to quality in engineering services as an effective business strategy that is consistent with the expectations of our Clients. OGI strives to meet planned schedules for the projects on which OGI works and provides good quality service and products to our Clients while meeting or exceeding their requirements. To achieve these objectives, OGI has implemented a Quality Management System in compliance with the International Standard ISO 9001:2015. OGI has obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification. This is renewed each year by an external Quality Management auditor.

Every engineer is responsible for his or her own quality. However, all work is also checked by other experienced staff before being issued to our clients. OGI prepares a clearly defined Quality Plan complying with ISO 9001:2015 to ensure the quality of all work at all stages of each project. The Quality Plan covers the following aspects:

  • Project Concept
  • Design Basis
  • Design Calculations
  • Cost Estimates
  • Computer Software Validation/Verification
  • Preparation of Reports
  • Preparation of Specifications
  • Preparation of Drawings
  • Schedules
